Import WAV inserts 'pop'

Importing .wav files inserts a 'pop' at the beginning and at the end of the track. The inserted 'pop' includes a short silence after the noise.

Is there any way to prevent this?

Note that it is verified that this noise is inserted by Audacity. It is not in the original .wav file.

Thanks for your report. Could you give a detailed step-by-step method of how to produce this problem and how to verify the problem is in Audacity?
Please include details of exactly which version of Audacity you are using and what operating system.
