Amplifing individual channels

Post by wavest » Sat Jan 29, 2011 8:11 pm

I'm new to the forum, so excuse me if this has been gone over. I am importing tracks previously recorded to sound recorder and on occasion, [depending on the particular track], while playing it back in my car the sound stage is shifted to the right. This sometimes manifests itself as vocals which are not centered. Is there a way to amplify one channel to compensate for this? It doesn't occur frequently so I don't believe it is an imbalance in my stereo and I don't like to use the balance control if I can avoid it. Thanks!

If the problem is on an entire track, then the easiest solution is to adjust the "pan" slider L<--->R on the left end of the track (in the track control panel) while you play the track. Adjust the pan slider so that the sound is correctly centred, then Export the corrected track (File menu).
