Configuring with midi decks

I am using this programme as the software on my midi decks (Virtual DJ 6 LE for American Audio VMS4 decks) does not enable me to record any of my DJ sets.
I have tried everything I can think of to enable recording. But still to no avail. Would you be able to talk me through the process, i.e. what cables I put where and also how to configure the recordpad software with my decks(usb)/pc and speakers?
Please help, I'm at my wits end here!
