How can I record my piano?

I plugged in my Casio keyboard to my computer using a USB cord and I don't know what to do next? I went into preferences > devices > recording, but my piano isn't an option. I downloaded a couple of other programs and they all detected my piano, but I don't know how to get Audacity to detect it. Any tips? Thanks!

If you are using windows Vista or Windows-7, the solution could be here ... http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 26#p119326

Yeah, I tried that already. My computer detects my piano and so do other programs but I can't seem to get Audacity to. Thanks though!

Also you should connect the usb cable before opening Audacity. Audacity will only see devices which are available when it starts up. If you connect a device while Audacity is running it won't show in the preferences until you restart Audacity.

Is that an "audio" USB connection or a "MIDI" USB connection?
In most cases it is a MIDI connection, but Audacity is an audio recording program and not a MIDI recording program (MIDI is NOT audio).
To record MIDI you need to use a "MIDI sequencer".
