Can not open mp3 library
I am really new. I am trying to record songs that I've written and export them as mp3's and save them. . I downloaded the lame file, but when I open it in Audacity it says can not open mp3 library when I try to save the track. It will save them as wav files fine. I have the newest version of audacity. Any suggestions? Also, when I did save them as wav files I opened one to play and both songs that I had recorded played at the same time over each other.

To make tracks play one after the other, use the "Time Shift" tool (double headed arrow <-->) to slide the tracks into position so that they are one after the other.
You will probably find it useful to try some of the tutorials (see link at top of page or directly below this post).
Audacity is a multi-track audio editor. This means that you can mix multiple tracks. If you have two or more tracks that overlap within an Audacity project, the overlapping section will be a mix of the overlapping tracks (useful for creating cross-fades, or putting together a voice and music podcast and such like).magzman wrote: when I did save them as wav files I opened one to play and both songs that I had recorded played at the same time over each other.
