Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Export Multiple>Edit Metadata>then what ????

Post by wostout » Sat Jun 07, 2008 12:54 am

This must be obvious to someone, but it is a conundrum for me. I recorded from a tape, split the recording into tracks with "Add Label at selection" using the track names, then attempted to export the files as FLAC files. When I hit "Export Multiple..." I get a "Edit Metadata" dialog box which repeats back to me each track and it's name every tilme I hit "Save. After the last track it takes me back to the "Edit Metadata" dialog box. What do I do then? If I hit "Export" again it just takes me back to the "Edit Metadata" box again where I do everything again, around and around. How can I export these files?
Thanks, Warren

What version of Audacity do you have?

I am confused about "Save", this serves different purpose.
In my Audacity 1.3.5. I leave the "Edit Metadata" window by pressing "OK".

After last track, Audacity does the export, says "Succesfully exported 4 files" end leaves the "Export multiple" dialog.

You say you get back to ... what dialog? - You probably mean the "Export multiple" dialog if there is an Export button.
This is strange. Did you look if there are some files exported?

If you don't want metadata in the files, use 1.3.5 and turn the appearance of the editor off in Import / Export Preferences. The behaviour is odd, but try 1.3.5 if you are not already,
