I downloaded and installed vst-bridge on my computer from http://wiki.audacityteam.org and now I need to find out how I install freeverb into my Audacity so I can start to use it.

ps - is there a metronome plug in anywhere?

Install Audacity 1.3.12 http://audacityteam.org/download/
Do not install the VST bridge (that's for Audacity 1.2.x only)
Place the Freeverb VST files in the Audacity Plug-ins folder.

I've already installed Audacity 1.3 Beta on my computer but there is not an Audacity folder in my documents.

Ensure that it is 1.3.12 - not all beta versions are equal, 1.3.12 is the version to use.

By default Audacity 1.3.x will install to C:/Program Files/Audacity 1.3 Beta (Unicode)/
Assuming that is the location on your machine, the plug-ins folder will be:
C:/Program Files/Audacity 1.3 Beta (Unicode)/plug-ins/

There is a feature at Generate > Click Track you can use which generates an audio track with regular pulse noises. You can select the beats per minute, beats per measure and number of measures. You can make it sound like a metronome by setting beats per measure in its dialogue to "1" or "2". The default 4 beats per measure is intended to give a different and stronger tone to each downbeat in 4 per measure.

You can also edit a Click Track like any other track, and could export it and then reimport it when needed as a custom click track if you wanted to.
