Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Is there a simpler way to import a track?

Post by Djard » Mon Nov 22, 2010 7:07 pm

I tried to import an MP3 file into an existing project as an additional track, but Audacity opened up a new page. So I minimized the GUI then dragged and dropped the file into my project from Win Explorer. Is there an easier way to perform this from Audacity's menu? Also, is there a way to export just one track from a multi-track project?

Use File > Import > Audio to import an MP3 into an existing project.

To export just one track, select the track then do File > Export Selection.

Thanks. That worked. I can't believe I overlooked it (well, yes I can).

You should also be able to import a track by dragging the file onto the open Audacity window.
