Audacity 1.3 and STAudio DSP2000-CPort

Dear all,
I have a DSP2000-CPort audio card. With Audacity 1.2.x I'm able to record all 8 channels, but Audacity 1.3.12-beta limits the number of channels to 2. What can I do. I have the most actual drivers of the audio card installed - of course, it's not very new (2005) as the hardware will not be produced any longer.
Best wishes,
Peter

What version of Windows are you on? If Windows Vista or 7, look in Windows Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound. Click the "Recording" tab, right-click over the DSP2000 > Properties then click the "Advanced" tab. Is the Default Format set to 8 channels?
Are you using exactly the same drivers with 1.3.12 that you were in 1.2.X?
Are you seeing pairs of two channel devices in 1.3.12 Devices Preferences or only one stereo device?
You could try changing "Host" in the 1.3.12 Devices Preferences to "Windows DirectSound". You could try the latest "Nightly Build" 1.3.13 alpha from
http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nightly_Builds. The alpha has a later version of the PortAudio Audio I/O interface that Audacity uses. Please advise if that helps.
There may not be a lot you can do otherwise without compiling Audacity 1.3 with
ASIO support. That should allow Audacity to see separate channels.

Unfortunately I have WindowsXP (Prof) and the mentioned tabs are not available. Of course there some some properties for the sound device, but none of them show me the number of channels.
Yes, I'm using the same drivers for both Audacity 1.3.12-beta and 1.2.6. Both programs are installed in parallel.
If I use 1.2.6 I can record all 8 channels (I think, 12 channels could be possible, but I haven't tested this).
If I use 1.3.12-beta, I see the recording device "2DSP-24 12ch EWDM", but the next combobox "Channels" of Audacity gives me a selection between "1 (Mono)" and "2 (Stereo)" only.
As I can record 8 (12) channels with 1.2.6, but not with 1.3.12, I think, it's really a Audacity problem

Yes there are a few reports of similar problems for example with Tascam US 1641, also some people with 2-channel recording devices only get one channel offered in 1.3.12 or previous betas, but two channels in 1.2.6. Please try the latest "Nightly Build" 1.3.13 alpha from
http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nightly_Builds.

Thank you, Gale!
I will try the nightly build. But I can't perform the test today as the PC is not longer here. I will hold you informed about...

Hi Gale,
sorry, that I answer only today. It was not possible to test the 1.3.13 alpha earlier.
And unfortunately that version brings no advantage for my problem. It shows 2 channels for my DSP 2000 card only.
Do you have another idea? Is there any way to find out, what's wrong? Can I read the same parameters from system (Win XP Prof), where Audacity reads it from?
