Ok guys please be gentle. I am an old lady of 36 and am having some issues, lol. First let me say, I love the program. I haven't figured out how to work it yet, but am coming along. I am exporting files to save, but when I go to get them they are not there. I can't find them anywhere. I am afraid I have all these lost files floating about in my hard drive. I followed the steps in the manual.. export..click desktop, MP3, Options..etc. Then I tried making it a AMR file, because I have a converter for that as well. It seems no matter how I try to save it, or no matter where I try to put it, I can't find them. I know I'm not a computer geek by no means, but I am no stranger to it either. Please help.
Thanks bunches
Beth

I presume that you are using Audacity 1.3.12 (look in Audacity "Help > About Audacity"). If you are using an older version, upgrade before proceeding.
http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows

Go to "Edit menu > Preferences > Import/Export" and remove the tick from "Show Metadata Editor prior to Export step". (this will simplify the Export process - you can switch it back on again later if you need it).

Create a project and select "File menu > Export > WAV (Microsoft) signed 16 bit PCM"
Navigate to your Desktop and name the file "test" (without quotes).
Click the "Save" button.

You should have a file called "test.wav" on your Desktop.
Does that work?

When naming files, stick to letters, numbers, space, underscore and hyphen. These are "safe" characters. Do not use slashes, punctuation marks, brackets, or other non-alphanumeric characters.
