After I take a noise sample of abut 3 seconds, I highlight the entire track and attempt to apply noise removal (I've done this a million times, but this is a new problem on a new computer with a freshly downloaded copy of audacity beta).
The noise removal is applied to only a tiny piece of my entire track (at the beginning of the track). The noise then fades quickly back in and rest of the track has no noise removal applied to it at all.
The same effect occurs with noise removal preview, where the noise removal is apparent only for a short burst.
Is there a setting I didn't know about? What could cause this? I've never had a problem with beta noise removal before. In fact, I used to swear by it.
Please help, I am stuck.

Re: noise removal not working anymore
It is possible that you audacity.cfg file has become corrupted.
The default location is: Documents and Settings<user name>Application DataAudacityaudacity.cfg
Try deleting (or renaming) that file - it will be recreated the next time you open Audacity, and effectively gives you a "fresh out of the box" installation.
