MP3 Metadata adds Number 1 name and title

Sorry for the Newbie like post. I love Audacity and recommend it to all my friends and clients, but I have a strange problem.
I download clients material from them in Flac format with a cue file. I then use Medieval Cue Splitter and end up with say 12
split tracks. I then drag and drop them in to Audacity and hit ctrl-A for Select All and then Export Muliple files function. It picks up
all the correct Metadata from the .cue file but adds a number 1 after every title's metadata and renames the new MP3 file with a number
1 after the file name as well. I end up having to edit every single title metadata field and then it still Exports the File with a 1 Digit afterwards.
What should be a simple export becomes a multiple program affair to rename all the subsequent files without the 1 Digit and edit every tag.
Oh and just for the record, if I don't use any other software and enter the Data manually in Audacity it still adds a 1 Digit, so it's not
external software issues.
Please can someone tell me what I might be doing wrong. I have searched the FAQ and Tutorials but for no joy.
My Setup if it's relevant is as follows
Windows 7 x64 Professional, Intel Q9550 2.8 Quad CPU. 8Gb DDR2 Ram, 5Tb Various drives. Audacity 1.3.1.2 Beta

I suspect that it may be down to a setting you have in the Export Multiple dialog box.
In this box on the right in the middle is a panel that is labelled "Name Files" - in it there are three possible selections - make sure that the one marked "Numbering after Label/Track name" is not selected.
I can't vouch for this as I no longer manage my metadata in Audacity, so my experience is limited in this matter - I prefer to manage metadata after export in my music player s/w, iTunes.

Thanks WC, but no. I select Use Label/track name which is the default.

I'm not able to reproduce the problem from the information given.
Could you give a step-by-step method for how to reproduce the problem.

OK, Here's the recipe in it's simplest form which exposes the Bug
1. Open Audacity
2. Drag any amount of .wav or .Flac Files (with or without Tags doesn't matter) files and drop them in active window
3. Ctrl A to select all tracks
4. Export Multiple Files
5. Choose Location (i.e. C:Temp In my test case)
6. Click Export
7. Every Track has a number 1 after " Track 01 " (see Picture Below)
8. If I use tracks with Metadata it puts all the correct Metadata but adds a 1 after every song file name exported and every song Title tag
Hope this clarifies things, let me know if there's any more info I might have left out?
Thanks

Yes, got it.
I think it is a bug, but the good news is that I think it has been fixed.
If you're feeling adventurous you could try the "nightly" build of Audacity. This is the latest, not yet released (1.3.13 alpha) version and it is available from here:
http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... tly_Builds
The nightly version is only available as a ZIP file (no installer) and does not include the manual (to keep the file size down).
There is no need to uninstall your current 1.3.12 version. Just download the ZIP file and extract it somewhere on your computer. The nightly version may be launched by double clicking on the "audacity.exe" file, or to make it more convenient you could create a Desktop shortcut to the audacity.exe file.
If you currently have any file types associated with Audacity they will still be associated with Audacity 1.3.12 (unless you manually change it or overwrite your Audacity 1.3.12 installation with the new version).
Alternatively you can wait for the next official release.

Thanks Steve, Bug is now thing of the past. great work. I reccomend Audacity to all my friends/family and clients as it's such a small foorprint efficient piece of software. Yes I also use Wavelab 7 and other HIgh end Expensive Apps but even they can't do some of the things Audacity can do. It's like a swiss army knife for Audio, I would gladly donate towards it developement. Keep up the good work Guys.
One impressed user

You're very welcome.
If you want to donate, you can do that here:
http://audacityteam.org/community/
and you will see that there are also other ways to get involved or show appreciation. There's always opportunities for users to help out here on the forum (even if you can only help with basic questions at the moment, it is still a great help - and a great way to learn more about Audacity). For bi-lingual users there are opportunities for translators, and for users with a reasonably high level of knowledge about Audacity there are opportunities for helping with the documentation.
