Hi,

I recently started using Audacity beta at home to complete my school I.T project for my qualification. I completed the whole unit at home but when I took it to school it wasn't opening since i used the beta version at home and the school had the older version. I was wondering is there any way I could change it to allow it to be viewed in the older audacity version. Can anyone help me tackle my issue?

Thanks

You could put Audacity 1.3.12 onto a USB thumb drive, which (provided that you can use USB thumb drives at school) will allow you to run 1.3.12
To use Audacity 1.3.12 as a portable application:
1. Extract the Audacity .zip or .dmg download to a USB stick or similar
2. Create a folder called "Portable Settings" on the USB stick
Note, the "Portable Settings" folder must be in the same directory as the audacity.exe file.
To start Audacity 1.3.12, just double click on the audacity.exe file.

you can get the audacity.zip file from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows

Warning - preferably use an empty USB stick and scan it with an up to date antivirus program before and after taking it to school.

You should recommend to your school that they update to Audacity 1.3.12 as Audacity 1.2.6 is now very old and unsupported.
