Export Multiple Error

Post by swinster » Wed May 07, 2008 12:30 am

Hi,

I'm not sure what the error is as Audacity is not that verbose. I have a long track with labels assigned, but if I try to Export Multiple using labels, Audacity returns and error saying the "something went wrong" and that it cannot export the tracks.

Any idea?

Also, is there a way of combining the prefix text and consecutive numbering AND the label naming , such as -

Prefix Text - Consecutive Numbering - Label.wav

Cheers

Chris

You will almost certainly have used a special character like / in the filename where the export failed.

I tend to keep my labels fairly vanilla in Audacity and edit filenames and tags after exporting.

I number mine by labelling thus: 01 <track_name-1>, 02 <track_name-2> etc. This keeps my exported files nicely in the same order as the album when usind Burning software and Windoes Explorer etc. The only niggle I used to have was removing the 01, 02 etc. from the track names in the ID3 tags of the MP3s I exported.

Thanks, you wee right. It would be nice to see a better error report here.

Interesting work around for saving track names using labels with numbers embedded, although it wouldn't be too much work enable the option at save time - all the feature are there they are just not combined. Possibly the use of variables such as %albumname% taken form the meta-data would be nice, but not essential.
