Files keep saving as .AM

Hi I am very new to audacity, and am not very computer literate. I need to burn a song to a CD for a school talent quest. I need to shorten the song to 1min 41 sec. I have done this in audacity, however when I go to export to get a WAV file to burn the CD it is saving as a AM file. Please help!

The solution is to avoid using special characters in the file name. Stick to letters (a to z, A to Z), numbers (0 to 9), space, hyphen (-) and underscore (_).]Avoid using slashes, parentheses, commas, dots and other strange characters. Your specific problem is probably that you have a dot in the name.
