I saved the track in MP3 and when I run it through the process it doesn't do anything, all the words are still there like original. Any suggestions?

"Vocal Removal" relies on the "vocal" being dead center of the stereo mix, and the other instruments being off center.
Basically it subtracts one channel from the other, and creates a mono track that is equivalent to the difference between right and left in the original.
If the voice is not in the center, it will not be removed.
If it is a mono recording, everything is central and you will get silence.
If other instruments are central, they will also be removed.
MP3's often screw up the stereo image and so vocal removal rarely works on mp3's
