Click track problem

Can anyone please tell me why the 2nd audio track is recording the clicktrack I generate on track 1?
I have also reasoned that if I delete or mute the click track before exporting, it won't transfer, but it is in the mp3 on playback.
How do I hear the clicktrack without it being recorded onto the 2nd track?
Is there anyway I can hear the clicktrack while recording without having overdub switched on?
Thanks.

If you are playing the click track through loudspeakers then (obviously) your recording microphone will pick up some of the sound.
I presume however that you are not doing that but are listening through headphones, in which case the issue is probably because your sound card is set to record from "stereo mix".
"Stereo Mix" (sometimes called "Mix" or "What U Hear") is a special recording mode available on some PCs that allows yo to record sounds that are playing on the computer. Rather than recording from a specific input (such as the microphone) it records ALL sounds that are going through the sound card. This is very useful if you want to record sounds playing through your web browser, but it is not what you want for microphone recording. For microphone recording you need to set your sound card to the microphone input (only) and not "Stereo Mix".
There may be a loudspeaker icon near the time/date - if there is, open up the sound card mixer and set the recording input to the input that you are using (which I guess is the Mic input?).
If you can't find the sound card settings there you will need to go into the Windows Control Panel to set the recording input.
