shortcut keys for fade in/out?

I use the fade in / fade out effects all the time. The problem is that there aren't any shortcut keys assigned to them. In fact, there aren't even any letters assigned to them in the menu, so I'm pretty much forced to use the mouse.

Am I missing something? Is there a way to assign shortcuts to them or something?

From looking at the Key Bindings table from Edit>Preferences>Keyboard it looks as though none of the effects have listings in the table and thus AFAIK cannot have shortcut keys associated with them. Like you I use FI/FO a lot and agrre that a k/vb shortcut would be extremely useful.

Tedder, can I therefore suggest that you add this as a feature request to the Adding Features To Audacity please. Then we'll see how many others support this as a recommended upgrade.

+1 for shortcut keys for FI/FO; an excellent idea.

Actually, +1 for more shortcut keys generally. If they were user-definable that would be even better, 'cos then I could standardise shortcuts for common operations between the different apps I use.

yes, I agree on "more shortcuts" too.

I added it to the bottom of the interface tweaks section of the feature requests wiki page. Please vote it up!
