Identifying the effects and settings on a track?

Is there a way to identify:

1) what effects a track currently has on it; and
2) what the settings of those effects are?

I'm trying to re-record a deleted section of a track, with the exact same effects and effect settings as the original track; so I need to know what effects (i.e. echo, amplify, chorus, etc.) are on the first track, and what the settings of those effects are, so that I can duplicate the original sound and make the "patch" as seamless as possible.

I'm using Audacity 1.3.12-beta on Windows 7. Thanks for your help.

Most effects in Audacity will remember their setting during an Audacity session, so the next time you use the effect the settings will be those that were used last. When Audacity is closed and reopened the effect settings will usually be reset to their default values.

Other than that the only way is by careful listening.
