This is a very evil .wmv (no video, audio only) i have hear.. Basically this is a good healthy .wmv, when i click it, it plays nicely too. But the problem is when i try and open it with Audacity it says
This is the .wmv file you can also test for yourself.
download below

What i am aiming to do is to convert this to a mp3. (The Audacity Way)
some extra useful info
EDIT:
I managed to convert to mp3 with SUPER but... i compared the .wmv and the .mp3 but the mp3 was slightly less quality -_-.
Here are the settings i used on SUPER
download the mp3 here if u want to compare for yourself :

EDIT:
This .wmv has defeated me and so i had to re-record audio source with Audacity and export to .wav. FInally same quality, thanks anyways, bye.

It imports fine into Audacity if you add the FFmpeg library to your computer as per this

MP3 is a lossy format so you would expect that.

My bad for the import part (i did not read the wiki instructions) so you are right there. But, the part where you said that mp3 is lossy, yes you are right but i also tried with SUPER to convert to uncompressed .wav (and still slightly lossy sound). But like i said i did manage to correct this by recording with Audacity.

The WMV file was 44100 Hz so providing you chose pcm 16 as the output codec in SUPER and didn't choose a sample rate below 44100 Hz there is no reason that saved WAV should sound worse than the WMV.
If you recorded the audio in some other software as WMA2 (which is also lossy) and then record the same source in Audacity, it will sound better than the WMV if exported from Audacity as WAV because Audacity records in lossless PCM.
