Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Opening G.729 Wav Files

Post by [email protected] » Wed Sep 29, 2010 4:09 pm

Hello,
I have some G.729 wav files from our VOIP voicemail system that I need to open and convert to another format for ease of playback on other PC's. Is there any way to open these using Audacity 1.3.x? I tried opening the files, but get the error none of the importers support the file. Any thoughts?

Audacity is a terrible converter. You should use Super or Switch (download).

Top Google search result for super: http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

Downloading it is a link jungle, but it's worth the effort.
