can't open moved project

I created a project on one of my school's OS X machines. I don't know what version of the OS or of Audacity it was using, but I can say that it was definitely a newer Intel Mac... Anyway, in order to work on the project at home I zipped up the _data folder and uploaded it and the .aup file to Google Docs. Now I'm home on my x64 Win7 machine trying to open everything, but Audacity tells me that the "Project check found 56 orphaned blockfiles. These files are unused and probably left over from a crash or some other bug. They should be deleted to avoid disk contention." After I select an option on that screen, it tells me that the "Project check detected 2 missing audio data blockfiles (.au), probably due to a bug, system crash or accidental deletion. There is no way for Audacity to recover lost data automatically; you may choose to permanently fill in silence for the missing data, temporarily fill in silence for this session only, or close the project now and try to restore the missing data by hand."

My guess is that I'm doing something wrong here. Would anyone happen to know a solution to this sort of problem?

Thanks!

That's important. Schools and institutions frequently forbid installing of Beta version software of any kind and Audacity non-beta, Version 1.2.5, is not stable on newer Macs.

So you lose on Sports CallĀ®. It's totally possible the Project was only marginally stable before it left the Mac.

Most Projects are expected to transition between Windows and Mac assuming you're self-contained. Either you have Audacity set to copy music files into itself for editing, or you never used "foreign" music files in the first place.

The backup for this is to make a backup. Export a WAV file from the original show and open and edit that on the new machine. Audacity defaults to Microsoft WAV format and yes, it opens in Windows machines just fine.

It's possible you wouldn't have been able to continue editing anyway. Audacity does not save UNDO layers in the Project.

So No, I don't think you have a show any more. Once it starts to fall apart like that, it's all over. The first thing you do when you get back to the Mac is Export a WAV file of the work -- if the Project still opens.
