Hello everyone,

Newbie here with questions :) I would like to record a "Live Stream" at http://www.1420thebreeze.com . They use live365.com . It is a high school football game.

a. How do I set a timer to record?

b. What speed should I record it?

c. Can I change it to a podcast?

I do have permission to record it as I am part of the two man broadcast team in the booth. I have been doing the games now in my 7th season, but this is the first season we are streaming the games "Live", and I thought it would be cool if I could record the games on my computer instead of my wife always having to record them on a cassette player and after an hour she has to flip the tape over and record again.

Doing it that way sometimes the end of the game don't record because the cassette tape is only so long.

Thanks in advance, I hope you can give me some advice :)

You can set up your computer to record internal sound by wading through this wiki...

http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Recor ... e_computer

...but if you have a modern PC, that might not work so well. By the time you get to Win7, the ability to do that is pretty rare.

Then you go to software solutions. Total Recorder can do that as can Freecorder.

Automated is a little more challenging. Read the pages.

Audacity 1.3 has a timer function although it can be a little delicate.

Then you can probably skip right to here...

Freecorder 4 does not have a TImer. Use Total Recorder or see if your sound device can capture computer playback. If so, you can use the Audacity Timer Record.

Thanks Gale.

Getting back to Audacity 1.3, I am having dificulty recording a live stream with it. It records me moving around my computer, it records my dog barking and people in the house talking, but it the doesn't record radio station I want it to. Thoughts?

I tried to figure it out myself, but I am haven't had much success.

Thanks, been trying to figure this out.

On my Win 7 Dell notebook I can run a cable (just a monitor to pc sound cable) from the speaker output to the mic input.
The system allows me to then define the input as "line in" instead of mic, then I just start the recorder app as if it is recording from the mic input.
