Audacity Forum

Hey guys, new to the site and was hoping someone can help me out with this problem.
When i'm recording the audio, the meter shows up as something is being recorded...but when i go and try to listen to it, there's absolutely no sound at all.
is this a common problem? I've tried skimming through the site already to see if I can find a solution but I couldn't find anything. Please help, Thanks.

Are you sure that it is not just really quiet?
Try applying the "Amplify" effect (from the Effect menu) with default settings.
