Buzzing & bass distortion when recording streaming audio wit

Buzzing & bass distortion when recording streaming audio with audacity 1.2.6. in Vista H B 32 Bit.

I've only been using Audacity for a short while & up until now, my recordings(through Headphone line in)have been fine but for some reason, all of a sudden, I'm getting buzzing & bass distortion when recording streaming audio. This only appears on the recording & isn't evident while streaming & it happens with the one online source that I rec from & also from WMP11, which I tried as an alternative to a Web based stream. As I've mentioned, I'm not too sure why this has started, because up until now I hadn't changed any settings or Volume levels, although after a few recording attempts, I did try lowering the Main Vol. but the buzzing was still evident & the bass distortion/audio was simply quieter. I've tried updating my Realtek Hi Def Audio drivers in Device Manager but it was up to date, so I used Driver Robot to scan, review, update & install but the problems still persist. Pls Pls Pls can anyone offer me any assistance with this annoying set back?
