Can't get files from my friend's mac to work

Hey,
I recorded a jam session on a friend's macbook, and put the audacity files on a USB drive to bring to my windows computer. When I open them, I see the audio until I zoom in to a certain point, then its just a flat line. The audio doesn't play, either. I've used audacity for years, but never on a mac before, and have never had this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
