Am I able to export with the above CCIT U-Law format?
Juggling back and forth with Audacity and Sound Recorder is becoming painful and can affect the quality of the final wav.
Thanks in advance,
Martin.

For "ADPCM U-law CCITT 8 bit" select "Other Uncompressed Files" as the format in the Export Dialogue screen, then click on the Options button and select WAV > U-law
For a 8 kHz bit rate you need to set the Project Rate to 8000 before you export (bottom left corner of the main Audacity window.

For many telephony applications, this won't work because Audacity exports a non-standard 16-byte fmt chunk. We are considering changing to 18-byte for WAV (Microsoft) headered U-Law and A-Law. Please test an example 18-byte file at
