I have just started trying Audecity for very simple purpose of creating markers in a track. All I want is to look at the wave form and keep creating a marker in between bundled-up waves. I don't need to name each separated segment. As I complete this and close the file, Audecity should ask whether I want to save the change. Upon saying "Yes" the name of the segment file to be stored should be generated from the input file name. For example, if the input file name were "Track-1," and it were divided up into 10 segments, the output file names should be as follows.
Track-1 Part-01
Track-1 Part-02
Track-1 Part-03
Track-1 Part-04
Track-1 Part-05
Track-1 Part-06
Track-1 Part-07
Track-1 Part-08
Track-1 Part-09
Track-1 Part-10
I tried "cut" and "paste" into newly opened file, but the separated segments were joined again to from one single track. I went through the forum list, but I could not find any solution to my problem.
Could someone tell me how to do it?
Thanks

Note that when the article talks about adding names to labels, that is optional - during the "Export multiple" step there is an option for the segments to be numbered automatically.
