Re: distortion sound on win 7 with an external sound card
Getting the settings right in Audacity is the easy bit - it sounds like you had that all set up right straight away.
In the Audacity Preferences:
USB codec
2 channel (stereo)
44100 Hz
However, on Windows 7 you also need to set up the same settings in the Control Panel. I don't use Win 7 myself, so I'll just direct you to the page about this on the Audacity wiki and hopefully you can work it out: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... trol_Panel

Re: distortion sound on win 7 with an external sound card
Try making a recording of that zzzz, then look at it with the "Plot Spectrum" tool (in the Analyze menu).kiriazy wrote:it gives me a zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz distorted low sound.
Does it show a series of decreasing spikes at 50Hz, 100Hz, 150Hz, 200Hz.... or 60Hz, 120Hz, 180Hz, 240Hz...
After recording the zzzz, stop Audacity, then use "safely remove hardware" and unplug the UCA-202. Does Windows allow you to safely disconnect? If not, just pull the USB plug out. Now press "Record" on Audacity - do you get an error message?
