You can check your Audacity version at Help > About Audacity.
Does the Firestudio record streaming audio except by feeding it the audio out?
Are you getting the 100% CPU when Audacity is closed? If so you need to ask Presonus about the problem.
If the problem only occurs when using or recording from Audacity, don't use any ASIO drivers. Audacity doesn't support ASIO drivers unless you compile Audacity yourself from source code to include ASIO support. You may be able to choose MME or WDM drivers somewhere in the Presonus. Normally it would be the correct thing to do to install the universal control/driver the manufacturer recommends, but if that forces an ASIO only driver, then Audacity won't work with it.
