High resolution recording with E-Mu 0404 usb?

I just purchased an E-Mu 0404 USB for live recording. My first session was a brass quintet and pipe organ concert. The 0404 was set for 44.1k/24 bit. One stereo track was recorded for the whole concert, about 1 hour 10 minutes. Audacity was simple and effective. I would like to record at the top sampling rate of the 0404, 192k/24 bit. The computer is a 1.8GHz Pentium 4, 2GB ram, Windows XP. What can I expect for sustained recording at 192k/24?
Thanks

You can expect little noticeable difference to recording at 44.1/24 except for much larger files. This is assuming that your set-up still records successfully without introducing pops or crackles. I certainly would not expect that 192/24 would sound any better than 48/24, even if you have professional quality microphones, studio monitors, and exceptional hearing.

Thanks for the reply. I expect to compile with the Steinberg ASIO driver and explore the ability of Audacity to write the input audio stream to the hard drive. What forum should I use to discuss harddrive recording with the E-Mu 0404 USB/ASIO?

Good luck with that. I've had a go with no success, but I'm sure it can be done (I just don't know enough about compiling programs for Windows).
If you find out how to do it, it would be great if you could post a step-by-step walkthrough of how to do it.
I'm not sure of the best place to get information on this. There is a little information in the Readme files included in the downloads, but it was not enough information for me to succeed.
It may be worth starting a new topic specifically about this, in case anyone here has managed to do it. If you are compiling v.1.3.4 on Windows, then this would be the best board to post on, but make sure that the title of your new topic makes it clear what you are trying to do - something like "Compiling Audacity 1.3.4 from source-code with ASIO support on Windows XP"
