mp3 encoding error messsge

Every time I attempt to export audio as an .mp3 file, I get the message "Could not open MP3 encoding library". Audacity was installed normally, and the lame_enc.dll file was downloaded and installed as instructed. The .dll file has been 'browsed to' and found in both the "Lame for Audacity" folder and was placed and browsed to in the "Audacity 1.3 (beta) Unicode" folder every time a file export routine was run. It's path has also been set in "Preferences", and various variations of paths were tried in the "Audacity.cfg" file -- all to no avail. I've installed Audacity and successfully downloaded the necessary Lame .dll file on several computers, but have never encountered this problem before, and can't seem to get beyond it now. Suggestions?

Problem resolved. Used the lame_enc.dll file derived from .zip download. Must differ from .exe download file (size is different).
