Export multiple with Unicode labels

Using unicode characters in the labeling process causes Audacity to NOT export files with the labels I've entered. A sample label is: libúól-s00a. There are some zero-spaced diacritics in that text and they might be causing Audacity to choke during export. Trying to export results in a message: "Something went wrong after exporting 0 files(s)." This is a great feature if it would work properly because we use this to label language data from minority languages which very often use unicode characters in their alphabets. Has this problem been seen before and is there a fix coming soon?
Apparently the Linux version of Audacity handles this process correctly. Windows can also handle unicode characters in the file names, so the problem seems to be with the windows version of Audacity.

Hi all,
I've come across the same problem, I think (when trying to export labels as FLAC):
- If the path (or filename) contains unicode characters then the export fails in a strange way: The encoding is done but the files are not created at the specified destination.
- If one removes unicode characters from the labels AND the directory path where the individual files are to be saved to do not contain unicode characters then the export works fine. (I.e. exporting with metadata containing unicode characters works fine as long as the path/filename do not contain any as a result).
Version info: Audacity 1.3.6 - Oct 24 2008 (on WinXP 32-bit)
Apart from this minor niggle it's working like a charm! (I'm converting old vinyl records.)
Regards,
VT

Obviously a Unicode build of Audacity should be used to give Unicode support (that is, one advertised for Win 2000/XP/Vista), but yes I can confirm Audacity 1.3.7 (the current Beta) on Windows seems unable to either import or export files that contain Unicode characters, or files from/to paths that contain them (even if the file name does not).
Audacity can still open projects with Unicode characters in the track names or labels.
Sorry.. We'll look into it.

We've tried to fix Unicode import and export now (it affected normal export as well as export multiple). There is a Unicode development build
here for Windows 2000 or later - can you try it and let us know if there are any more problems?
Thanks
