Not Recording Audio
I am trying to record with Audacity on my desktop, but no sound gets in. I am able to send sound via skype so the problem does not seem to be the computer mic or sound card. And when I try to select the microphone on the dropdown for input devices, the only option is 'Master'.

Re: Not Recording Audio
Assuming you are on Windows Vista or 7 you have to choose recording inputs in the Devices tab of Audacity Preferences, not in the Mixer Toolbar Input Selector. First of all, you need to exit Audacity, go to the system mixer, list the disabled devices and then enable all the ones you want to use so that they will appear in Audacity Preferences. Click here for instructions on doing that.
