No Recording Audio

Post by ctc » Wed Jul 07, 2010 4:20 pm

I have been using Audacity 1.3.12 for several months successfully. Today when I tried to record audio at my soundcards rear input, I can hear it through the speakers but the audio recording "line" is flat and playback is silent. For the host interface in preferences I have tried both Windows DirectSound and MME, with both recording devices set to Line in at rear panel. I have uninstalled Audacity, cleaned the registry, reinstalled Audacity, but the problem persists in Windows 7.

Exit Audacity, go to the system mixer and make sure the line-in is enabled and set it as default device using the steps listed. Turn the input level up on the "Levels" properties tab for the line-in as shown.

Restart Audacity and make sure the line-in for the sound card is chosen as the recording device.

All settings were already as you recommended, however I found the speaker icon muted on the levels tab. I unmuted the speaker icon and all works fine now!. Thank you.
