I'm using a Line 6 Toneport GX, and since I upgraded from Gearbox 3.20 to 3.50, when I open Audacity I get no audio until I record or play in Audacity. When I stop recording or playing the sound disappears again. If I close Audacity I have to close and restart Gearbox to restore audio.
I was running 1.2.6 when I had this problem originally, but when I tried to uninstall Audacity it diappeared from the list of prgrams but the icon and folders were still present. I downloaded and tried to reinstall but got a message saying install files were corrupt so I tried 1.3 which installed fine, but I get random blue screens when I open Audacity when Gearbox is open.
Sorry for the ramble, any ideas?

Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Re: Audacity and Line 6 Gearbox
Audacity does not support ASIO drivers (which are the default and the best ones to use with Gearbox).
Here is why Audacity does not support ASIO: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... _Interface
So you've got Gearbox trying to use ASIO drivers, and Audacity trying to use WDM drivers.
When you are using Gearbox without Audacity, use the default ASIO drivers.
When you need to run both Audacity and Gearbox at the same time you will probably have to find a way to set Gearbox to use the WDM drivers.
