imported tracks into aud 1.3 problem

I want to use tracks recorded on Mixpad into Audacity, since the latter has more accessible editing features, for my purposes. However, when my project in mixpad was saved, it saved it as *.mpdp, whatever that type of file is. When I tried to open it in Audacity, under 'file type' I had to select 'all files' in order to find the project. After clicking okay, the import window opened, reading 'importing mp3 files', followed by an error importing window 'audacity had to make a guess at the type of file. Audio may be bogus. If audio is bogus, try renaming the file so that it has the correct extension before opening it.' After it loaded, the tracks seemed to be on one track divided into two subtracks. The wave appeared very different. When I hit play, a whiny sonic hissing was all I could hear. So I downloaded a conversion item from the mixpad site that supposedly converted the project into mp3. After some searching, Audacity finally opened it, but the same whiny hiss with the distorted wave file played. Is there a way to import or open my project into Audacity so I can edit it? Greatly appreciated.

You need to save (or Export) from Mixpad as "Microsoft PCM WAV". You should then be able to import into Audacity.
