VST PROBLEMS

hello,
I got a problem , everytime I try to use for example the classic master limiter , everytime somewhere in the file that I selected , an anoying "click" comes to the surface after using this master limiter. how can I avoid that ?

Are you applying the effect to the entire track, or just to part of the track?
Before you apply the effect, is the maximum peak level of the entire track below 0 dB?
Do you have the same problem with 16 bit tracks and 32 bit tracks?
Do you have the same problem with tracks that have a sample rate of 44100 and 48000 Hz?

yes i am using it on the whole track ,
where can I check if the track goes over the 0db limit ?

and even if its under the 0db limit It does the same thing , it clips everytime ...

It sounds as if it might be a problem with that plug-in effect.
Have you tried the "Hard Limiter" that is included in the LADSPA plug-in pack? (available here:
http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows )
