I downloaded the 1.3.x beta some time ago, and just picked it back up because I'm going to start making my own stuff. Everything was working fine, till I had to get a drink. I stopped everything and walked away, but when I came back, it couldn't locate the project file folder. I hadn't moved it. I still know exactly where it is, which is the same place it was created. But if I try to open the .au file, it tells me it can't find the folder. Is there a way to tell it, "HEY! The file's right here!"?
It's worth mentioning that I reopened Audacity several times, and restarted the computer once. It's been suggested that the files are corrupted, but Audacity can still open all the partial files, just not all of them as they were before.

i agree with your premise
if not your implication

do NOT open an au file

open your aup project
it will handle the files
unless you moved things around
if so - dont do that!!

i really wish the honchos would hide the au stuff so people would stop trying to mess with it directly and that when they moved stuff the files and projects would go together - FEATURE REQUEST

Yes, well, can't make everyone happy. Heck, I'm one o' those uber-nerds and I'd play with the files even if they were hidden.

Figured it out, though. The .aup AND the project folder have to be in the same location. The project file was where it started but I moved the .aup to another folder.

that is correct
but if you do move it
and you are nerd enough
you can go into the aup project folder
and edit the location to where you moved the au files
