Unable to set parameters for chained ExportMp3 command

In Windows XP SP3, using audacity-win-unicode-1.3.12, when I export a file as MP3, I get the Options dialog which allows me set the parameters.

However, when I go into Edit Chains and try to set parameters using the ExportMp3 command, there are no parameters to set. I have tried double-clicking on the command several times. This is also true for the pre-installed chains. I am able to see and set parameters for some of the other commands, such as Normalize, but never for ExportMp3.

I have previously downloaded and installed Lame_v3.98.2_for_Audacity_on_Windows.exe, and Located it in the Preferences.

How can I get the ExportMp3 command to show me the parameters dialog?

When using MP3 export with Chains, the settings that were used last will be used. So if you want to export a load of files at say the "Preset Extreme" setting, Export a short dummy file at that setting before running the chain. This is a bit of a pain if you regularly change your MP3 settings, but not a problem if you always use the same settings.
Some of the other chain commands work in a similar way.

I understand, however, my question was how do I bring up the MP3 Settings Dialog/Panel which would allow me to set the settings (if possible), as I don't normally work with the actual parameter strings? Even when I export a single file, I am unable to view any ExportMp3 Dialog/Panel to set the settings. - Thank you.

What I am trying to access from the ExportMp3 Chain command is the "Specify MP3 Options/MP3 Export Setup" dialog box, please see attachment.

The "Specify MP3 Options/MP3 Export Setup" dialog box is not currently available through the Chains command. When running the Chains command, the MP3 options will be the same as whatever was used last when doing an ordinary "Export", "Export Selection", or "Export Multiple".

I understand. So there is no way to view or change these when in the Chains screen? Is this correct?

Correct, an I agree that it would be convenient to be able to do so.
"Chains" is currently a rather undeveloped feature in Audacity with many severe limitations and it is hoped that at some point in the future it will be radically reworked and expanded upon to give more comprehensive batch processing functionality.
