I am trying to record streaming music but in addition to the music I also get sound from microphone. How do I only get one input source ? Using Vista.

You need to mute the microphone. You will probably be able to do that by double clicking (or right clicking) on a loudspeaker icon near the time/date on your desktop and opening the sound card mixer application.
