I am attempting to use Audacity to convert a large number of cassettes to MP3 and store the files on the computer's hard drive. Is there a setting in Audacity 1.3 Beta that allows me to increase the recording speed beyond the 1:1 ratio in creating these MP3s?
In other words, can a 90 minute cassette be converted in, say, 20 minutes using an Audacity setting? If there is, what is the step by step how to do it?
Thanks very much,

Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Re: Speed of MP3 conversion
See this tutorial from the Audacity manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... _transfers
But please note that this practice is not recommended for a number of reasons - not the least being the loss of some of the audio.
