In both 1.3.11 and now 1.3.12 I cannot move the cursor with the right arrow key, nor select with Shift+right arrow.
I made the default installation with both and make no Preference settings.
Does anyone know what causes this? Left arrow key works fine.
Thank you for your help.

Does the right arrow key on your keyboard work?porphyry5 wrote:In both 1.3.11 and now 1.3.12 I cannot move the cursor with the right arrow key, nor select with Shift+right arrow.
BTW, you have posted in the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum.

Re: move cursor with right arrow key
Yes it does. But I'll move this query to the appropriate forum, anyway.

(I've moved this topic and removed the duplicate)
Try resetting the keyboard bindings.
"Edit menu > Preferences > Keyboard"
Click on the "defaults" button (you may not see anything happen).
Restart Audacity.
Test the keys.

Re: move cursor with right arrow key
Thank you, apparently Right Arrow is not the default setting for Move Cursor right, because in Keyboard Preferences I found that taken by "Short seek right during playback" (whatever that might be), while Ctrl+Right Arrow was the setting to move the cursor to the right. So now it is fixed.

"Right" by default functions as both the shortcut for "cursor right" (when stopped) and "Short Seek right during playback".porphyry5 wrote:apparently Right Arrow is not the default setting for Move Cursor right, because in Keyboard Preferences I found that taken by "Short seek right during playback" (whatever that might be), while Ctrl+Right Arrow was the setting to move the cursor to the right. There is a list of all default keyboard shortcuts in the Manual.
