Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

used to record, now won't

I've been using the standard version on my Windows XP for 6 months. Last month I took my computer to the shop to be reloaded due to a virus. I had to reload Audacity, now all I get is a flat line when recording. There is no drop down menu on my Audacity, so I can't change the input source selection. I updated my sound card, Real Tech Front Pink Jack, but that didn't help.

See the section here about using the Control Panel to select the input source: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... trol_Panel
You may also find that you can set the input source (and recording/playback levels) from a sound card mixer application in the Taskbar of your desktop (near the time/date).
