Hi,
I'm using Audacity to rip all my vinyl and have been using Pro-ject USB V pre-amp/dac. Although it's an excellent device i would prefer to achieve a higher sampling rate of 16bit 48k.
Can anyone recommend the best preamp / adc that will sample at 24bit? I'm using a Audio Technica AT95E Cart...

If you really want to go 24 bit to rip vinyl, then you can either buy an external box, or just get a better soundcard, which will probably be of greater use in the long run. I use the m-audio audiophile 24/96, which has a break-out cable that will connect everything from RCA to 1/4". Link =
http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/A ... e2496.html M-audio also makes stand-alone boxes, as does Presonus, which may be within your price range. I got my card on ebay, new in box, for less than $100.
But just so you understand, there is almost no point in recording vinyl to 24 bit. All the additional bits do is increase the dynamic range, which is unlikely to ever exceed (within the bounds of listening) than 16/44.1. If you then plan on burning them to disc, it will save you the time and space of storing and then dithering the recordings back to 16 bit later on.
