Using samples with Audacity

Post by nighthawk » Thu May 20, 2010 4:53 am

Is there an easy way to add music samples along with other multi-tracked audio in Audacity? It seems difficult to add in samples where I want them in the song. So it's somewhat similar in the way something like Sony Acid works with samples. I want to record standard guitar, drums, bass, vox and then add in short prerecorded music samples (.wav files) in various locations all around the mix, after the other tracks are already recorded. Thanks for any assistance.

Import the sample (File menu), then use the "Time Shift" tool (double headed arrow button, or F5 key) to slide the sample left/right into position.
