Hi,
I have imported an MP3 file into Audacity and i have edited it slightly. I would like to save it without re-encoding it. Is this possible? When i export it, audacity seems to want to re-encode the audio file.
Otherwise, does anyone know a program that will let me do this?

Re: Saving File without Encoding
If all you're doing is splitting MP3 files then there are much better tools than Audacity - you just need a simple MP3 cutter/splitter - MP3Cut and MP3Split are both names that have been mentioned on the forum.
If you use Adacity you will compound the MP3 damage as compression will be re-applied on export to MP3.

Re: Saving File without Encoding
You could use MP3Split (free) to split the files. http://mp3splt.sourceforge.net/mp3splt_page/home.php
and use ReplayGain to adjust the playback level: http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php ... Replaygain
