Hi,
I'm just started recording my mixes with audacity. I use Traktor LE and a mixing consol (numark omni control). (somebody knows the exact configuration of the audi setting ?)
Now, the problem is: When I'm recording, the Pc records what I hear in the headphone. I want him to record the sound that I hear trough the speakers.
To adjust the volume in audacity I could use the "ph vol"-butten now. This should be the master button!
Can you help me out of this?

Re: Headphone problem
Native Instruments have done their best to make it impossible to record the Traktor LE unless you upgrade to Traktor Pro.

If you are able to record the Traktor LE at all you are doing well, but I assume that from your post the problem is that you can't record the Traktor LE?
The only way to record the Traktor LE is to record "Stereo Mix", which is the same method as recording any other sounds that are playing on your computer.

but put a mike in front of the speakers
lots of electric guitar folks like to record that way
else
hope you have a stereo mix option in your sound card driver
or whatever your card calls that feature
Re: Headphone problem
"Traktor" is DJ software. Using a microphone to record from the speakers would be a terrible way to record in terms of sound quality.whomper wrote:not the best way

Re: Headphone problem
thanks, but i really do know that.
i never put a mike in front of a speaker for 40 years now.
still true that a lot of guitar people like that terrible method.
and if the content is important better a bad recording than no recording.

Re: Headphone problem
Whomper, I'm glad we agree that recording from a speaker is a terrible way to record records or CDs, but it is the best way to record electric guitars. However discussing this here is of no benefit to backspace. If you wish to discus recording techniques, please start a new topic here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewforum.php?f=26

Re: Headphone problem
no special need to discuss recording techniques
although if someone starts one on stereo miking......
just threw that in as a lagniappe en passant when making the original point
