Recording Multiple tracks at once?

Is it possible to record mutliple tracks at once? everytime i do it there is a red line, the ouput level is right but the input level is at 0, please help, thanks.

You can record up to the number of channels indicated in the Devices section of Audacity Preferences. If you are recording a flat line, you can read here:

Thank you Gale, Yes the issue i had with the plug ins was i needed to check "research for plugins upon open", but it seems i hit a brick wall with my recording, because i only have speakers ( 2 channels) and Microsoft sound mapper ( 2 channels).

Maybe it would be possible to record each track seperatly and then use a different program to record them together?What are your thoughts on that

Uh i just solved my problem with the tracks, what i was trying to do was EXPORT, not record,,,,, that fixed it!!!

It's quite easy to record a track at a time in Audacity. You can play the tracks already there while recording a new one by checking Transport > Overdub before you record.

Audacity mixes all the on-screen tracks together when you play or export them. If you don't want a particular track to be exported in the mix, mute it.
