You can record up to the number of channels indicated in the Devices section of Audacity Preferences. If you are recording a flat line, you can read here:NewUserHelpPlease wrote:Is it possible to record mutliple tracks at once? everytime i do it there is a red line, the ouput level is right but the input level is at 0, please help, thanks.

So, is this issue of yours resolved? A quick yes or no would be appreciated.

Thank you Gale, Yes the issue i had with the plug ins was i needed to check "research for plugins upon open", but it seems i hit a brick wall with my recording, because i only have speakers ( 2 channels) and Microsoft sound mapper ( 2 channels).
Maybe it would be possible to record each track seperatly and then use a different program to record them together? What are your thoughts on that

Re: Recording Multiple tracks at once?
It's quite easy to record a track at a time in Audacity. You can play the tracks already there while recording a new one by checking Transport > Overdub before you record.NewUserHelpPlease wrote:Maybe it would be possible to record each track seperatly and then use a different program to record them together? What are your thoughts on that
Audacity mixes all the on-screen tracks together when you play or export them. If you don't want a particular track to be exported in the mix, mute it.
